 The Indian Off-Road Hunk

The new Mahindra Thar coming after a long interval of time but the changes happened in this would be required as there are lot of competitors that were exceeding day by day. The overall design is inspired by Jeep Wrangler. Let's have a look at this Off-Roader.


Exterior 

Few Cosmetic changes are there as built on Body Frame Construction however in the front section the Grill design is revamped over some hooks founded on the hood are looking beautiful and giving a complete massive look to this 4*4 beauty. The round halogen headlamp and Fog Lamps are similar as the new LED Day Running Lights were installed. The front suspension system is independent. 


As more variants are there due to high demand in the current market as Hard Top, Convertible and Soft Top Options also these changes are required now as to taken back the trend of the New Thar.  This new model is more longer and wider as compare to the antecedent one. The convertible variant have manual adjustments as per the requirements.


The 2 Door variant is going to launch as Mahindra is planning to come up with the 4 Door alternative so that more options for the customers as per different demands because this Thar is compact so can easily compatible for the City use also. New cladding is all over the car to give a broad view. The ground clearance without weight is 226 mm.


The 18 inch alloys giving a mammoth glance although the new LED Tail lamps were lodged. The convertible factory modification is more smoother and giving more comfort to this Off-Roader. The front doors are removable. As water depth of this vehicle is 650mm.


The rear suspension is multi-linked also with mechanical locking rear axle. As looking towards the safety of this Thar built in Roll Cage coming up with crash safety Body-shell. The Hill Hold and Hill decent control is also there along with rear parking sensors. The ESP roll over mitigation is installed to enhance the stability of the car.


Interior 

There are lots of changes in the inshore of this as the new steering wheel with upgraded steer mounted controls in addition with 7 inch touch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay, Android, USB and Navigation. Adventure Statistics displayed on the infotainment system with Mahindra Adventure Calendar display.


The drivetrain of this Thar is coming up in two Engines. 

Petrol engine mStallion is available in both 6 speed Automatic and 6 speed Manual that is 2.0 Litre direct injection, turbo unit has been developed in the house of Mahindra said by the company producing 150 HP at 5000 RPM and 320 Nm Torque at 1500-3000 RPM.

Diesel engine mHawk is also available in both 6 speed Automatic and 6 speed Manual that is 2.2 Litre all aluminium engine that produces 130 HP at 3750 RPM and 300 Nm torque at 1600-2800 RPM.  


The height adjustable Driver seats with adjustable lumber support. Electronic HVAC controls along with Cruise control and two USB charging ports. Features on the co-driver seats are one touch tip and slide mechanism. Electrically adjustable OVRM's. Smart watch and Phone connectivity with Blue Sense app.


The Front facing 2nd row seats for the first time in the Thar with 50:50 split. The whole dashboard is reconstructed with drizzle resistance IP54 switches so that Thar can be adapt by the City car riders as new changes are required so that they can manage with the needs of the every type of customer. 


The Roof mounted speakers are there for having great music experience. Tyre pressure and direction monitoring system is present. The braking system of the car is also upgraded. The leg space in the second row is congested but can be adjustable.
